Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Aewise (“Aewise”, “we”, “us”) helps businesses improve how they show up in search engines and AI assistants. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at hello@aewise.com and a human will answer.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run your account and do the SEO work you hired us for. We never sell your data, we never share it with advertisers, and every customer's workspace is strictly isolated from every other customer's.

1. Who we are

Aewise is operated from Saskatchewan, Canada. For the purposes of data-protection law (including Canada's PIPEDA and, where it applies, the EU/UK GDPR), Aewise is the data controller for your account information and a service provider/processor for the website and business data you connect. Contact: hello@aewise.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum needed to provide the service:

  • Account details — your name (if you provide one), email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash — we can never read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account instead.
  • Business details you give us — your website address, business name, services, locations, and any answers you provide in onboarding questionnaires or content interviews. This is what lets us write content that sounds like you.
  • Public website content — the publicly available pages of the website you ask us to work on, which we crawl and analyse to produce your audit, plan, and fixes.
  • Connected service data — if you choose to connect Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, WordPress, or a social account, we access the data you authorise (see section 4). Every connection is optional and revocable.
  • Payment information — if you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor. We receive your plan, billing status, and the last digits of your card for receipts; full card numbers never touch our servers.
  • Usage and log data — standard technical records (IP address, browser type, pages visited, actions taken) used for security, debugging, and keeping the service reliable. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to:

  • audit your website and build and execute your SEO plan;
  • draft content (blog posts, Google Business posts, social posts) for your review;
  • show your search performance, rankings, and progress in your dashboard;
  • operate your account — sign-in, billing, approvals, and important service emails;
  • keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations; and
  • improve the service using aggregated, de-identified information that cannot identify you or your business.

We do not sell or rent your data, use it for advertising, or use one customer's private data to benefit another customer.

4. Data from connected Google services

You can optionally connect Google services to your Aewise workspace. When you do, we request the minimum scopes needed and use the data for exactly one purpose: powering your dashboard, audit, and plan.

  • Sign in with Google — your basic profile (name, email, picture) to create and secure your account.
  • Google Search Console — your site's search queries, clicks, impressions, and indexing status, shown back to you and used to prioritise your plan.
  • Google Analytics — your site's traffic data, used to report progress and inform recommendations.
  • Google Business Profile — your profile details, posts, and reviews, so we can draft posts and review replies for your approval and publish the ones you approve.

Aewise's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. In plain terms: we use Google user data only to provide the features you see, we don't transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide those features (or for security or legal compliance), we don't use it for advertising, and we don't let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or to comply with the law. Google user data is never used to train AI models. You can disconnect any Google service at any time in Settings or via your Google Account permissions, and we delete the stored tokens when you do.

5. AI processing

Aewise uses large language models to analyse your site and draft content. To do that, we send relevant context (for example, your services, page content, and questionnaire answers) to established AI providers under commercial API terms that prohibit them from using your data to train their models. AI output is drafted for your review — sensitive categories of content always require your explicit approval before anything is published.

6. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who help us run Aewise, only to the extent needed, and under contracts that protect it. These include: cloud hosting and databases, authentication, AI model providers, transactional email delivery, payment processing, and the SEO data providers we query for search-volume and ranking data. We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply to your data). That's the whole list — no data brokers, no advertisers.

7. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active so your history, rankings, and change log keep working for you. When you delete your account — or email us asking us to — we delete your personal data and workspace content within 30 days, except for minimal records we're legally required to keep (for example, invoices for tax law). Backups roll off automatically on a fixed schedule. Disconnecting an individual service (like Google) deletes its stored credentials immediately.

8. Your rights

Wherever you are, we extend the same rights to you: you can access the data we hold about you, correct it, export it in a portable format, delete it, or object to or restrict how we process it. Just email hello@aewise.com — we respond within 30 days and never charge for it. If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR), Canada (PIPEDA), California (CCPA/CPRA), or a similar jurisdiction, these are your legal rights and you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising them, and since we never sell data, there's nothing to opt out of selling.

9. Cookies

We only set cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service — keeping you signed in and keeping your session secure. We don't set advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies, which is why you don't see a cookie-consent pop-up. If that ever changes, we'll ask for your consent first.

10. Security

Security is built in, not bolted on: all traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), credentials and connected-service tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256), every workspace is isolated at the database level, access follows least-privilege rules, and every change we make to your website is logged and reversible. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your data we will notify you promptly and tell you exactly what happened.

11. International transfers

Our service providers may store or process data in Canada, the United States, or the EU. When data crosses borders, it stays protected by the contractual safeguards described above (such as standard contractual clauses where required).

12. Children

Aewise is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and notify you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. We'll never quietly reduce your rights.
